Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds Middle Town Meadow

November 18 - December 2

The 2nd Annual “Coastal Bend Field of Honor Flag Ceremony” Postponed due to Weather

Nueces County, TX – J.J. De La Cerda, Nueces County Director of Veterans Services says, “We have decided to postpone the 2nd Annual Coastal Bend Field of Honor Ceremony and Flag Posting

from tomorrow 11/11/2022 @ 4:30 p.m. to Friday November 18, 2022 @ 4:30 p.m...

The grounds are currently saturated and will only get worse with the inclement weather coming in tomorrow. This is a safety concern as we have rebar in place.

Additionally, those involved in the program such as the flyover, njrotc, veterans band, honor guard, etc.

will not show and we would really tear up the grounds setting up.”

• WHAT: Second Annual “Coastal Bend Field of Honor”

• WHEN: Special Ceremony and Flag Posting postponed until November 18, 2022, at 4:30 p.m. The “Coastal Bend Field of Honor” will be

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The Coastal Bend Field of Honor

Join us in recognizing the bravery and dedication of our service members during the Coastal Bend Field of Honor event.

This year’s ceremony is on November 18th, 2022 and the flags will fly in the field until December 2, 2022. The Coastal Bend area is home to many U.S. veterans, their families, and their surviving loved ones. As a community, we want to show them all how much we appreciate them. The words, “Thank you for your service,” can go a long way in letting our servicemen and women know that they are appreciated. But just like they’ve shown their dedication to our country through their time in the service, we want to show our gratitude through action. So, on Veteran’s Day, we will fill the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds with 1,000 flags to honor our Coastal Bend area Veterans, and proceeds from the event will help support our veterans.

Purchase a flag in honor of the service members in your life and join us on November 18th to pay tribute to our Veterans.

Join Our Mission to Honor and Support U.S. Veterans

The Coastal Bend Field of Honor is a part of the Military VIP initiative to help veterans in need. Proceeds from the event help supply food, housing, and other necessities to veterans in the Coastal Bend area. We want our veterans to know how much we truly appreciate their service. We tell them not with mere words but with a helping hand when they need it. We say thank you with a hot meal or a place to call home. Our mission is to honor, support, encourage, and embolden our veterans. Join us in lifting up those who have sacrificed to protect our way of life.

Ways to Support Our Service Members

Purchase a Flag

If there is a veteran in your life and you would like to honor them, purchase a flag to represent their service during our Coastal Bend Field of Honor Event. Each flag will represent the service of one U.S. veteran. The flag will include an information tab with the Honoree’s name, the branch of service, rank, and the details of their time in the service.

Become an Event Sponsor

Businesses and individuals in the Coastal Bend area are encouraged to participate by becoming a Coastal Bend Field of Honor event sponsor. Sponsors will be listed on our website to let our community and our veterans know that they are proud supporters of our veterans and their families.
