We Are Ready to Be #TogetherAgain!

While we missed you the past few months, we are excited to be #TogetherAgain! The Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds is now open again!

At this time, we are now accepting appointments to book a special event or public event. Appointments for booking an event are allowed at a limit of 3 people. For bookings call us at 361-387-9000.

As you are aware, Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds, Spectra, and Nueces County are closely monitoring developments and updates from government health officials surrounding the COVID-19 virus. Our primary focus continues to be the safety, health, and well-being of our employees and community members. These are very difficult times for all of us and given the dynamic situation, we are continually adjusting and adapting to this rapidly changing situation.

In order for a smooth transition to our new policies and procedures, when attending one of our upcoming events please follow our new guidelines when visiting the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds. Please view below for our new guidelines and procedures.

GENERAL PUBLIC - COVID-19 POLICIES

All policies are subject to change in accordance with state and local guidelines.

FACE MASK:

  • Under the authority of Nueces County, effective March 17, 2021, and continuing until May 19, 2021, at noon unless modified, amended, rescinded, or superseded by the Commissioners Court before that date: Everyone visiting the Nueces County Courthouse, or other County operated facilities (Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds), is required to wear a face-covering.

The following are the health protocols the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds is implementing for attendees when visiting or attending an event at the facilities.

 

PRIVATE SOCIAL EVENTS

  • All attendees are required to wear a face mask under the authority of Nueces County.
  • Parties should maintain at least 6 feet distance apart from other parties at all times, including while waiting to be seated at the reception.
  • 6 feet of social distancing between individuals not within the same household on entering and exiting the venue.
  • Seating at tables will be no more than 8 people. (Subject to change in accordance with state and local guidelines.)
  • Items such as condiments, silverware, flatware, glassware, or other traditional tabletop items, will no longer be left on unoccupied tables.
  • Condiments and other single-use items will be provided to guests upon request.
  • If a buffet is offered, venue employees and/or contractors will serve the food to attendees.
  • Beverages will be covered with a plastic cover and will be served and refilled by waiters.
  • Hand sanitizing area(s) will be available at all events.

 

PUBLIC EVENTS (SUCH AS SHOWS, CONCERTS, EQUESTRIAN EVENTS, ETC.)

  • All attendees are required to wear a face mask under the authority of Nueces County.
  • 6 feet of separation between individuals not within the same household should be maintained to the extent feasible.
  • 6 feet of social distancing between individuals not within the same household on entering and exiting the venue.
  • Seating to events will be adjusted accordingly to maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
  • For concession stand lines and/or bar stands, recommended social distancing floor stickers will be placed within facilities to maintain 6 feet social distancing.
  • Items such as condiments, silverware, or other concession food items, will no longer be left on unoccupied tables.
  • Condiments and other single-use items will be provided to attendees upon request.
  • Hand sanitizing area(s) will be available at all events.

 

ALL EVENTS

  • All attendees are required to wear a face mask under the authority of Nueces County.
  • All employees will need to pass a health pre-screen before their shift.
  • All employees will have completed safe food handling training.
  • All employees are required to wear a face mask.
  • We are sanitizing for each table and chair immediately after use.
  • We are sanitizing common areas/customer touchpoints regularly.
  • We are enforcing the current social distancing guidelines.
  • We are documenting our processes and will be happy to share our records upon request.
  • We take your health, and our team's health, seriously. If you ever feel like we are not living up to this pledge or if you feel uncomfortable in our facilities at any time, please do not hesitate to bring your concerns to management.
  • For every other restroom stall and sink it will be closed and taped with red tape.
  • Restroom attendant for each restroom.
  • A cleaning log will be used for restrooms.

 

COVID-19 ALERT

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures to protect our venue guests. However, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By entering the venue, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19, and Venue disclaims any and all liability related thereto.

In accordance with the guidance and recommendations set forth by the CDC and local health officials, we respectfully request that the following guests not attend an event:

  • Guests who are feeling sick or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough and shortness of breath);
  • Guests who have been diagnosed with, or believe to have contracted, COVID-19, unless you have had no fever for 72 hours (without use of medicine) and 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared;
  • Guests who have been in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 14 days; and
  • Guests who have traveled internationally in the past 14 days.
