JOB TITLE:            ON CALL – EVENT STAFF

Reports To:            Director of Event Services; Event Staff Supervisor

Supervises:            N/A

Status:                   Part Time / On Call - Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:     

Under direct supervision from the Director of Event Services or Event Staff Supervisor, the On Call Event Staff personnel typically serve in a variety of event related roles, including ticket taking, ushering, door monitoring, coat-check attendant, and parking lot attendant. In the absence of the Director of Event Services, On Call Event Staff personnel may receive event-related instructions from an On Call Event Staff Supervisor or Event Manager.

JOB DUTIES: (include, but are not limited to…)

Ticket Taker:

  • Collect tickets, passes, etc. for admission into events; check for authenticity
  • Prohibit access to guests without proper tickets, passes or other entry credentials
  • Provide an accounting of tickets, passes, etc. collected
  • Provide general event and facility information to guests

Usher / Door Monitor / Badge Checker / Coat Check Attendant:

  • Direct guests to their seats and provide general information regarding the event and the facility
  • Monitor entry and exit into facility events; prohibit access to guests without proper entry credentials
  • Assist in maintaining order during events
  • Provide general event and facility information to guests
  • Serve as a coat check attendant (receiving, caring for and re-distributing coats) as needed

Parking Attendant:

  • Assist the parking operation by directing vehicles into and out of the parking lot

Other General Duties:

  • Be aware of the location and use of emergency alarms and equipment; follow established procedures in case of fire, disorder or other emergency situation
  • Observe general public; provide general information, directions and assistance to facility guests; report suspicious behavior to supervisor or Security Base
  • Maintain high degree of visibility and professionalism
  • Assist medical personnel by directing traffic and crowd control
  • Communicate clearly and in a polite and courteous manner with staff, contractors and guests
  • Perform other duties as required

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

  • This is an On Call position with no minimum number of hours guaranteed. Work schedules are determined by event activity.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends and holidays

JOB TITLE:               ON CALL – OPERATIONS WORKER

Reports To:               Operations Manager/Operations Supervisor

Supervises:               N/A

Status:                      Part Time / On Call / Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision from Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor, On Call Operations Workers perform event set-up and tear down, custodial, housekeeping and light maintenance tasks as assigned. In the absence of the Operations Manager or Operations Supervisor, On Call Operations Workers may receive instruction from the Operations Leads, Event Manager or Manager on Duty.

Job Duties: (include, but are not limited to…)

  • Work from general instructions and specifications
  • Read and interpret paperwork regarding room set-ups
  • Set rooms according to the requested layouts
  • Set-up and tear down a variety of equipment, including, but not limited to chairs, tables, staging, risers, trash cans, dance floors, coat racks, table skirting, carpet, pipe & drape, field covers, tarps
  • Sweep, mop, scrub & wax floors, wash walls, windows, stainless steel, counter tops and woodwork.
  • Clean restrooms and replenish supplies
  • Remove stains, clean and extract carpet
  • Dusts, polish, arrange and move furniture and equipment
  • Remove rubbish and waste
  • Use hand tools or small powered equipment applicable to the work being performed
  • Perform facility maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Report defective equipment, facility damage, areas of the facility requiring cleaning and incorrect or improper set-ups to supervisors in an timely manner
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
  • Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Perform other duties as required

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly moves about the event site

 before/during/after events and lifts, pulls, holds, pushes and places heavy objects; constantly is

 required to exchange accurate information verbally.

Work environment:

  • The essential functions of this position are usually performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud to during events and when setting up/breaking down equipment, and minimal during non-events and when not setting up/breaking down equipment.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Licenses or Certificates:

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a current CPR certificate
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain a Texas driver’s license

JOB TITLE:               ON CALL – CATERING WAITSTAFF

Reports To:                  F&B Operations Manager

Supervises:                  N/A

Status:                         Part Time / On Call - Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:     

Catering Waitstaff is responsible for serving guests in the venue dining areas at catering functions.  Catering Waitstaff must be personable and able to work in an ever- changing fast-paced environment. 

The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

JOB DUTIES: (include, but are not limited to…)

  • Responsible for serving meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line.
  • Responsible for serving beverages to guests including alcoholic beverages.  Must check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
  • Responsible for recording a guest’s order and relaying the order to the kitchen via P.O.S. system.
  • Responsible for observing guests to respond to any additional requests and determine when the meal has been completed.
  • Responsible for computing the cost of the meal and presenting the guest with the check.  Accept payments and provide change as necessary.
  • Responsible for refilling salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments and napkins.
  • Responsible for replacing tableware and linens as necessary.
  • Recommends certain dishes and identifies ingredients or explains how various items on the menu are prepared.
  • Assists in setting up banquet functions including linens, dishware, glassware and silverware.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas.
  • Must show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
  • Possess valid food handling certificate and alcohol service permit if required by state or federal regulations.
  • Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages) as related to cash/credit transactions and cash reconciliation.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
